Abstract

Studies on how Religious Education in the Philippines responds to inclusive education (IE) challenges, particularly for learners with special educational needs (SEN), are in continuous argumentation and reveal an ongoing discernment process. This paper contributes to the development of Disability Studies/Disability Theology; it outlines the critical components of disability models, historical and modern ways to define disability, and the primary viewpoints of the academic disciplines of disability studies and disability theology. The study seeks to answer how disability as a human limit can empower one’s unique abilities. The study observes, assists, and evaluates the creative potential of selected BDS JHS DHH learners in their Christian Living Class through the usability of video production and editing applications. The research employs a qualitative method using a Case Study of 10 selected BDS JHS DHH. As participants in the creative potential assessment process, the CL Teachers, Guardians, Social Workers, and Counselors will assess the videos and the observable criteria of the creative potential of the DHH learners. DHHs’ unique perspective on the world stimulates new ideas in various industries, such as technology, the arts, and communication. They can create tools, apps, or technology to support auditory rehabilitation or communication and enhance quality of life. The empowerment of BDS JHS DHH learners affirms the Church's richness and the incarnation of God's love and care for the marginalized.
