Abstract

The research will explore Lasallian formation (LASARE) facilitators’ practices and approaches in optimizing students’ active participation during face-to-face retreats and recollections, the methods they find effective or otherwise within the spectrum of students’ responsiveness and the said activities’ enhancement. The research will be conducted within the global backdrop of attention economy and its challenging demands to spiritual formation. It will explore how facilitators adapt to participants’ short attention spans, information overload, tendentious incessant gadget use, or consumption of digital data non-relevant to the activities. The research hopes to address the implications of the attention economy on the design and execution of retreats and recollections, emphasizing the need for methodologies that resonate with students as well as enhance formation programs. It will employ both quantitative and qualitative method in data gathering and analysis.
