Abstract

This research explores the possibilities for inclusion of interfaith education and practices within religious education curriculum in selected Catholic schools in Manila by reviewing trends, challenges and pedagogical approaches employed by teachers in participating schools. This descriptive study reviews relevant literature to determine patterns and challenges towards its inclusion. Additional data is derived from CL teacher participants to understand pedagogical challenges in the inclusion of interfaith practice in the curriculum. Our literature review will be complemented by interview and FGD data taken from teacher participants which shall be content analyzed. This research is relevant for contemporary religious education considering the growing diversity that has taken place in Philippine society today.
