Journal Description

The journal publishes scholarly articles, research papers, critical essays, theological reflections, and interdisciplinary studies that contribute to the continuing development of catechesis and religious education in local, regional, and global contexts.

Many of the articles published in the journal originate from research papers presented during the annual National Conference on Catechesis and Religious Education organized by De La Salle University and the Religious Educators Association of the Philippines (REAP), alongside submissions from catechists, theologians, clergy, pastoral workers, religious educators, and scholars from diverse faith traditions and academic disciplines.

Recognizing the pluralistic religious realities of Asia and the wider global community, the journal encourages dialogue, intercultural engagement, interdisciplinary scholarship, and critical reflection on emerging religious, educational, pastoral, and social issues.

Peer Review Policy

As an internationally peer-reviewed academic journal, Hitik adopts a rigorous double-blind peer review process, wherein the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the evaluation process.

Manuscripts are evaluated based on:

  • Originality and scholarly contribution;
  • Methodological and theological rigor;
  • Clarity, coherence, and academic quality;
  • Relevance to catechesis, theology, and religious education;
  • Ethical research and publication standards.
