Archiving

Archiving Policy: PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)

Hitik: International Journal of Catechists and Religious Educators is committed to the long-term preservation and accessibility of its published content. To ensure this, we utilize the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), a digital archiving service provided by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP).

About PKP PN

The PKP Preservation Network ensures that scholarly content remains available even in cases of technical failure or data loss. This system deposits journal content into a distributed network of LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) nodes, which regularly verify and maintain the integrity of stored materials.

Implementation in Our Journal

Through the SettingsPKP PN Plugin, our journal has enabled automated participation in PKP PN, which includes:

  1. Automated Archiving – All published articles are automatically deposited into the preservation network.

  2. Integrity and Security Checks – The LOCKSS network ensures data accuracy and prevents corruption.

  3. Reliable Content Restoration – If our journal encounters data loss, PKP PN provides a secure backup system.

Why Archiving Matters

By using PKP PN, Hitik: International Journal of Catechists and Religious Educators ensures that:

  • Our published research remains permanently accessible.

  • Scholars, educators, and catechists can rely on a secure preservation system.

  • The integrity of academic contributions is safeguarded against unforeseen disruptions.
