Abstract

(According to Dr. De Mesa, the 1593 Doctrina Cristiana version of the Our Father prayer highlights the foundational principle of inculturation theology, as it reflects a dialogue between the Judeo-Christian heritage of faith and Filipino culture through the actual words used in this prayer. Following the same approach, this study aims to analyze Gary Granada’s song Dakilang Maylikha through the lens of inculturation using a culturally sensitive theological study (mabathalang pag-aaral) approach. It also seeks to offer a fresh perspective on the Our Father prayer and the benevolence of the Creator, providing more profound meaning to the experiences, emotions, and inner self of the common Filipino.)
